We truly accuse and justly despise those who are flattered by present pleasures, who are blinded by desires, and who cannot foresee the pains and troubles that are bound to follow; and equal blame belongs to those who fail in their duty through weakness of will, which is the same as saying through shrinking from toil and pain.
